How to Create a Google Review Link

A Google review link is a URL that opens the review form for your business directly, so a customer does not have to search for you first. You can copy the ready-made link from the review-sharing option in your Google Business Profile, or build one yourself by adding your Place ID to https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=. Fewer taps between the thank-you message and the review box means more of the customers who intended to leave one actually do.

Steps

  1. Open your Google Business Profile (search your business name while signed in to the owner account) and use the option to share your review form and copy the short link.
  2. Or find your Place ID using Google's Place ID Finder, and append it to https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=.
  3. Open the link yourself, signed in to a different Google account, to confirm it lands on the review form.
  4. Send it by SMS, WhatsApp or email right after the visit, and add it to receipts and invoices.
  5. Turn it into a QR code for the counter, table cards or packaging.
  6. Create one link per location so each review lands on the right profile.

Common mistakes

  • Linking to the search results page instead of the review form, which adds steps.
  • Using one location's link for every branch.
  • Only sharing the link during occasional campaigns instead of after every visit.
